Datsun Go Plus India Launch Soon - Spy Images and Details

We reported in detail when it emerged that the Datsun Go Plus India launch has been delayed, but now, thanks to the image that you see below, it seems Datsun India’s plan of introducing the low cost MPV in India’s fast growing MPV market are back on track! This image shows a Datsun Go Plus MPV test mule, which was recently caught testing in Pune, Maharashtra by our friends at AutoColumn. From the looks of it, the Go Plus is in the final stages of testing and we believe that it won’t be too long before the second Datsun product makes it to our country. Launch

It is now being said that the Datsun Go Plus India launch will take place in the first quarter of 2015. Given the fact that it seems like Datsun is almost done with the testing of the vehicle on our turf, the thought of the launch being around the corner doesn’t look all that far fetched.

Price

The Datsun Go Plus is a low cost MPV and hence, could have a starting price of approximately 4.75 lakhs! At such a price point, the Go Plus will become a more affordable alternative to the new Honda Mobilio and the very popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Specifications

In all likelihood, the Datsun Go Plus MPV will go on sale in both petrol and diesel engine variants. The petrol Go Plus will be powered by the same 1.2-litre engine that powers the Go hatchback. However, it is expected that the power will be bumped from 67 bhp to around 80 bhp. The diesel Go Plus is likely to get the highly acclaimed Renault 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbochanged K9K diesel engine. For the Go Plus, this engine would come in its 89 bhp guise. Both the motors will come mated with a five-speed manual gearbox.
