VW Group owned Czech automaker Skoda revealed the new generation 2016 Skoda Superb at an event in Prague earlier this year. The new model is underpinned by the much publicized Volkswagen MQB platform and the all-new Superb doesn’t just look more appealing than the outgoing version, but is also more spacious and feature-laden. The 2016 Superb is internationally available with five petrol and three diesel engine options and last we checked, has been getting rave reviews from media and car enthusiasts alike. Now, it seems like Skoda India has started readying itself to launch the third generation Superb limousine in India. The India-debut of the new Skoda Superb 2016 is expected to take place at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016, and the manufacturer was recently caught testing the upcoming model on our country’s public roads. In the words of Skoda, the new sedan’s interior space has a more “modern, elegant and sophisticated look”. The manufacturer goes on to say that the new Superb benefits from a “new level of comfort, new technical solutions and high-quality, precise workmanship”. The new car benefits from 157 mm of more rear leg room and 69 mm of better elbow room. The car has a large boot, with a maximum capacity of 625-litres (again, 30 litres more than the earlier car).

As we said earlier, the new 2016 Superb will hit the dealerships in its home market with five petrol engines and three diesel motors. The petrol engine line up comprises of– 1.4 TSI (125 PS-200 Nm), 1.4 TSI (150 PS-250 Nm), 1.8 TSI (180 PS-250 Nm), 2.0 TSI (220 PS-350 Nm) and 2.0 TSI (280 PS-350 Nm). The Diesel engine line up will comprise of- 1.6 TDI (120 PS-250 Nm), 2.0 TDI (150 PS-340 Nm) and 2.0 TDI (190 PS-400 Nm).
