GT-R

Nissan’s own Ben Bowlby has confirmed to us that the
next GT-R will use a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 paired with a hybrid system. That powertrain, essentially a streetable version of the one in the GT-R LM Nismo F1 car, is expected to make well north of 600 hp. The
Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept combined a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 with a hybrid system for 550 hp, paired with all-wheel drive via a nine-speed automatic transmission. No doubt this engine is a big part of Infiniti’s plans for a new engine family with aluminum and direct-injection.
The next Nissan GT-R isn’t expected before 2018, so definitely don’t look for anything from Infiniti until then.
