Upcoming Small Cars in India Under 6 lakhs

Indian roads are ruled by small cars which comprise of a major chunk of the total four wheeler sales in India. By definition, a small car is any vehicle which is less than 4 metres in length and powered by a petrol engine of  1.2 L or less or a diesel engine 1.5 L or less. What this means is there are multiple body styles which fall under the small car category including hatchbacks, compact sedans and compact SUVs. Naturally, this highly lucrative segment attracts many automobile manufacturers all of whom are bringing in multiple products to extract the most out of the popularity of small cars in India. Renault Kwid (September 2015) The Renault Kwid made its international debut in India back in May and will finally be available at dealerships by the end of September. The Maruti Alto 800 rival gets unique crossover-like styling which should go down very well with Indian customers. Renault is also claiming best in class mileage and a starting price of around INR 3 lacs. Kite is the codename being used by Tata and rumours suggest the car could be christened the Glade. Test mules have been spotted on multiple occasions revealing a design language similar to the Zest/Bolt. Premium interiors and oodles of interior space are expected to be the core strengths of the Kite. The latter, christened Ford Figo Aspire, has already been launched in India and judging by the how good that car is we expect the Figo hatchback to be just as impressive, if not better. It will be placed below the existing crop of compact sedans which include the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Figo Aspire, Tata Zest, etc. and will be priced in he Grand i10, Ford Figo hatchback territory. Interiors captured in numerous spy shots reveal a 3+3 seating arrangement giving it an edge over the competition.
